Series

"It is important to me that there is a cohesive force between my works. Sometimes a theme touches my imagination and inspiration so deeply that it becomes not just one work, but an entire series, built around the same theme. In such moments, the creative energies of a given theme return again and again to be embodied in different art forms."

Spiritual Knowledge II.

This work continues the idea of the connection between the material world and the soul, a central theme in my art. The painting contrasts the sensitive, ever-changing nature of the inner world with the brilliant yet fleeting presence of physical reality.

The flow of colors evokes the emotional layers of the human soul. The gold flowing from top to bottom appears as a symbol of the material world, which acts on us as a force that is both attractive and raises questions.

This idea is so defining to me that I wanted to create a smaller version in addition to the original work. Not as a copy, but as a new formulation of the same inner message.

Spiritual Knowledge

This work of art reveals the intangibility of the soul and the sensual yet ruthlessly definite contrast of the material world. The lower two-thirds of the painting unfolds in a mystical, almost misty depiction of the soul, in which the subtle interplay of warm and cold colors is intended to depict the ever-changing, ever-moving emotions and thoughts of the human inner world. In this cacophony of colors, hope, joy, fear, ego and anger merge into each other, expressing the complexity and eternal struggle of the human soul, its continuous change and development in relation to itself.

In the upper third of the composition, the symbolism of the material world appears in the form of a golden waterfall, which flows down from above with dazzling brilliance. This shining golden stream embodies the never-ending, insatiable desire for the wealth and luxury of the physical world. Accumulation, conquest and the eternal pursuit of achieving material goals are all united in this gold. The contrast between matter and spirit creates a visual world that invites the viewer on a deep inner journey to their own soul, to consider for a moment how they relate to the question of what is more important; My own spiritual peace or the constantly changing, manipulated and fleeting material world around me.

Rose in the Castle II.

This painting is the successor to the previous version, evoking the same place, but in a different mood. The Turkish Garden always shows a different face – sometimes lively and vibrant, other times quiet and thoughtful. This picture captures the latter: the last rays of sunset, the cool touch of evening, moments of quiet contemplation.

The reddish and purple hues recall the vibrant colors of the setting sun and roses, while the blue tones evoke the slow arrival of evening. The prominent textures of the surface carry the weight of history, just like the ancient walls of the Castle District.

This painting is a kind of memory for me: it does not depict a specific sight, but the feeling that this special place always evokes in me. A calm, deep moment when one completely forgets about the beauty of the lights, colors and silence.

Rose in the Castle

The picture was inspired by a location I love and visit often, which is none other than one of the hidden gems of the Buda Castle District, the Turkish Garden, which evokes a fabulous oriental atmosphere; an oasis of timeless beauty, where nature and history go hand in hand, inspiring art lovers and romantic souls alike. The garden, which encompasses centuries of history, is a quiet haven on the western side of the Castle, where I often admire fantastic sunsets. The central attraction of the garden is a star-shaped mosaic ornamental fountain, which attracts attention with a stone basin decorated with Moorish art motifs. The soft trickle of water and the brilliance of the mosaics together create the special atmosphere of the place. The always carefully pruned rose bushes and the benches hidden in the shade of fig trees all make this magical place an island of tranquility and beauty. It is incredibly pleasant to relax in the embrace of nature, protected by the historic walls, and immerse myself in my thoughts here in complete tranquility.

These two paintings present the totality of the mood described above in the form of abstraction. The red and purple hues evoke the glowing light of sunsets and the velvety petals of roses, while the deep and lighter blue tones follow the gradual darkening of the sky into the night. The rough, sometimes hidden textures that weave through the composition – the imprints of ancient sea snail fossils – evoke the romantic atmosphere of the old castle walls of the Castle District.

Treasures of the Incas II.

This painting was inspired by my work Treasures of the Incas, which is a continuation and addition to the previous work. Although I did not intend to add deeper layers of thought compared to the previous one, I was so captivated by the atmosphere, mystical colors and effect of the original painting that I felt it deserved a sequel. I really enjoy creating textured oil paintings; this technique always gives me a special freedom. So I sat down and let the painting almost run out of my hands.

Treasures of the Incas

Inspired by the mystical realm of the Incas, my painting uses a unique contrast of gold and dark tones, as well as the shadows of the texture of thick layers of paint, to convey the power and mysticism of this fascinating ancient culture. The rich use of gold foil in the work pays homage to the precious metal consecrated by the Sun Gods. The darker shades evoke the story of the legendary founding couple, Manco Cápac and Mama Ocllo, who emerged from the depths of Lake Titicaca. These two mythical figures taught people the respect for the gods and the science of fertile agriculture. The textures of the painting refer to the refined aesthetics of the terraced mountains and Inca goldsmithing. The work also reflects the profound wisdom that characterized the Inca philosophy of life: “Do not lie, do not steal, do not be lazy!”

In what is now Peru, the Incas and their predecessors were characterized by the veneration of the Sun God (Inti in the case of the Incas). In these societies, gold almost without exception symbolized the Sun itself and embodied the power of the gods, so the precious metal was considered a divine essence. Since the rivers and the land itself in these areas contained abundant amounts of gold, it was easy to obtain this impressively shiny treasure, so the mastery of gold processing stands out in each of them. Objects made of gold could only be used by the ruler and his immediate family members, who constituted the nobility.

Divide and rule

The most ancient mental restraint of humanity is that we are not occupied with our own intuitions, but with the clichés generated by others, to which we compare ourselves and the world. Just think of gender ideals: the weak woman, the sensitive woman, the brave man, the tough man. Why couldn't it be the other way around? Is monogamy natural, or was it just forced upon us? Gender ideals are not laws of nature, they are just social conventions, and the source of a lot of internal and external conflict that makes no sense in the world. If the human mind were not restrained by these things, when would we have kicked up dust on the moon? Maybe in the 1600s?

The brilliance of the universe

The central idea of the painting is the close, though often unnoticed, connection between man and the cosmos. Celestial bodies – like the Moon, which can move the oceans – remind us that we are also integral parts of the universe. Our lives may be shaped by the cyclical influences of the planets, but what role do we play in this vast, complex system? How are our will, our destiny, our soul intertwined in the infinite web of time and space?

The painting draws deeply from Carl Sagan's "pale blue dot" philosophy, which directs our attention to the fragility of human existence and the vast dimensions of the cosmos. In Sagan's famous words, the Earth, a tiny blue dot floating in the infinite darkness of space, is our home, the stage for everything we have ever experienced. "Everything happens on this dot: every person you have ever loved; every tyrant and hero; every creator and destroyer; every religion, ideology and economic system; every mother and father; every child full of hope; every explorer, every teacher, every couple in love..." Sagan's words teach us that this tiny place is extraordinary in the almost infinite universe.

The painting's brilliant colors and golden elements symbolize the life-giving energies of the universe. Human destinies and stories are small but significant; we ourselves are part of a complex story, tiny and magnificent in the timeless order of the universe.

The work invites us not only to admire the immense beauty of the universe, but also to recognize our own fragility and our responsibility towards each other. If the Earth is just a tiny blue dot in the vastness of the universe, then how we treat this tiny miracle – and of course each other – is all the more important.
