"Modern is that which is worthy of becoming antique."
How true is the above quote, which emphasizes the eternal validity of art and the lasting impact of works on culture. Truly significant modern works can stand the test of time and later become true classics...
The Spirit of Kintsugi
This oil painting of mine resonates deeply with the idea of the Japanese art of kintsugi (金継ぎ), not only visually but also philosophically. Kintsugi – meaning “repair with gold” – is a technique that originated in 15th-century Japan, in which broken pottery is repaired with lacquer and real gold, silver or platinum dust. Rather than hiding cracks, kintsugi highlights them, giving the object a new, unique beauty. This art is based on the spirit of wabi-sabi: accepting the beauty of transience, imperfection and passing away.
Just as a kintsugi master not only restores a broken cup but also gives it a new life, this painting conveys a kind of internal reconstruction. The shards – the square structure of the composition – are not the end, but stories. Layers of past and present, experiences built on each other, which together form the “whole.”
This image is therefore not only an aesthetic experience, but also a spiritual, spiritual message: imperfection is not the enemy, but the master. The gold highlights the value of the pain experienced, and the fragmentation is an opportunity for reinterpretation.

Courage
Courage is not the absence of fear, but the conscious acceptance of it. It does not mean that our hands or our spirit never tremble, but that we move forward despite it.
Courage is sometimes spectacular, like when someone stands up for what's right, defends the weak, or dares to take a new path. But it's often quieter, barely noticeable—when someone faces their own doubts day after day and still carries on.
Sometimes courage lies in change: letting go of something that no longer serves you and venturing into the unknown. Sometimes it is found in staying, in persevering.
Courage is especially important for an artist. To stand before the world with what comes from within – our deepest thoughts, feelings, and dreams – is one of the greatest audacities. Because every brushstroke contains a piece of us, and we can never be sure how it will be received.
But perhaps the greatest courage is to be ourselves. Not to conform to expectations, not to try to be different just to be accepted. But to believe that we are valuable just the way we are.
You are brave if you dare to live the life you truly want. If you dare to dream big and dare to take small steps every day to achieve it.
Because courage is ultimately nothing more than the first step to freedom.

The water of hell
My work, Water of Hell, is an abstract depiction of the soul, capturing that moment in our lives when, after a difficult, depressive period filled with inner struggles, an unexpected impulse – a melody, a memory, a phone call, the beauty of nature – breaks through the veil of darkness and brings hope amidst the inner storms.
The red and burgundy shades are imprints of pain, confinement and the difficult state of the soul. These colors carry the emotional depths, the feeling of hopelessness and abandonment. The dense, layered textures of the picture express the restlessness and agitation of the human soul, the inner struggle in which the individual tries to find something to hold on to in the darkness.
The turquoise and light blue raindrops are the first drops of hope, symbols of relief and rebirth. These colors symbolize the process of inner transformation, when the soul finally moves from the depths and begins to perceive a new, fresher perspective. Rain here is not only a purification, but also a kind of heavenly blessing, helping to reconnect with the beauty of life.
Gold is the essence of experience and lessons that a person carries with them as they recover from suffering. It represents not just surviving pain, but processing and transforming it, as a kind of inner enrichment. The gold flecks break through the deeper tones like light, reminding us that every difficult period is also an opportunity for growth, understanding, and a deeper connection with ourselves.

Sundial
The painting, entitled The Sundial, is an abstract landscape that captures the infinity of time and the cyclical nature of the material world. At the center of the composition, the brilliance of a stunning sunset unfolds, breaking out from behind a fragmented shimmer of gold, which seems to disperse in space like a veil of mist. The dynamism of the painting is further enhanced by the contrasting colors: the deep red and orange earthly elements represent the world below and material reality, while the vibrant blue tones evoke a sense of higher spheres, the sky and transcendence.
The radial, dividing yet merging lines that appear in the structure of the painting refer to the system of sundials: one of the most ancient methods of measuring time, based on the movement of the sun. These definite, straight directions symbolize the passage of time, the constant cycle of human existence. The message of the painting is clear: every end carries a new beginning, and time never stops, but flows continuously, like light spreading across the horizon.
Everything in our world is periodic, every change and movement is part of a greater rhythm, and this eternal vibration is above all. This work is a meeting of the past and the future, a timeless reminder that although the passage of time is inevitable, it still holds the potential for continuous renewal.

Director's Right
With my painting "Director's Right", I would like to draw the viewer's attention to the diversity of art.
The vibrant colors of the painting evoke the vibrant atmosphere of theatrical performances: they refer to the grandiose and vibrant appearance of the sets and the expressive mannerisms of the actors. The delicately shimmering 24-carat gold cubes placed on the work symbolize the light shining on the stage from the spotlights.
The question often arises: what is art really?
A painting, a piece of music, a film, or an acting performance are all things that attract the attention of many; people look up to these works and to the people who present and/or create them. Thus, what happens on stage, what is depicted on a canvas, or what comes to life in the pages of a book has a significant impact.
I am convinced that the essence of art is teaching in the purest sense.
There is no other medium in the world that can convey thoughts, emotions, ideas, and moods as deeply and comprehensively as a work of art. Therefore, art is primarily a teaching medium—not merely self-expression or entertainment, as people often think today—since the one is merely the result, the other the consequence. The point is the message.

Treasures of the Incas II.
This painting was inspired by my work Treasures of the Incas, which is a continuation and addition to the previous work. Although I did not intend to add deeper layers of thought compared to the previous one, I was so captivated by the atmosphere, mystical colors and effect of the original painting that I felt it deserved a sequel. I really enjoy creating textured oil paintings; this technique always gives me a special freedom. So I sat down and let the painting almost run out of my hands.

Spiritual Knowledge
This work of art reveals the intangibility of the soul and the sensual yet ruthlessly definite contrast of the material world. The lower two-thirds of the painting unfolds in a mystical, almost misty depiction of the soul, in which the subtle interplay of warm and cold colors is intended to depict the ever-changing, ever-moving emotions and thoughts of the human inner world. In this cacophony of colors, hope, joy, fear, ego and anger merge into each other, expressing the complexity and eternal struggle of the human soul, its continuous change and development in relation to itself.
In the upper third of the composition, the symbolism of the material world appears in the form of a golden waterfall, which flows down from above with dazzling brilliance. This shining golden stream embodies the never-ending, insatiable desire for the wealth and luxury of the physical world. Accumulation, conquest and the eternal pursuit of achieving material goals are all united in this gold. The contrast between matter and spirit creates a visual world that invites the viewer on a deep inner journey to their own soul, to consider for a moment how they relate to the question of what is more important; My own spiritual peace or the constantly changing, manipulated and fleeting material world around me.

The slow life of the mountains
This painting invites us to reflect on the nature of life and the limits of the concept of living. What makes something truly alive? A degree of self-determination or something else, perhaps an intangible force? The painting raises questions that touch on the deeper layers of existence: how much self-determination can a mountain that stands silently on the ground have? What can we say about a plant that instinctively follows the light? How much freedom does a cat enjoy that walks the world with its own consciousness? And do we, humans, really have the complete autonomy that we so often assume about ourselves?
The painting also encourages us to examine the concept of self-determination beyond the level of earthly existence. What might God's self-determination be like? Can absolute freedom exist, and if so, how great is the distance between human self-determination and the free will of an omnipotent being? Perhaps there is some kind of transition between man and God, a gradual transformation, where different forms of existence are situated at different levels of freedom and self-determination.
The painting thus seeks to initiate a train of thought that seeks the essence of existence and asks questions that stretch the boundaries of human reason. The mystery of self-determination thus leads not only to a philosophical but also a spiritual dimension, allowing the viewer to discover the depths of their own existence and freedom.

Rose in the Castle
The picture was inspired by a location I love and visit often, which is none other than one of the hidden gems of the Buda Castle District, the Turkish Garden, which evokes a fabulous oriental atmosphere; an oasis of timeless beauty, where nature and history go hand in hand, inspiring art lovers and romantic souls alike. The garden, which encompasses centuries of history, is a quiet haven on the western side of the Castle, where I often admire fantastic sunsets. The central attraction of the garden is a star-shaped mosaic ornamental fountain, which attracts attention with a stone basin decorated with Moorish art motifs. The soft trickle of water and the brilliance of the mosaics together create the special atmosphere of the place. The always carefully pruned rose bushes and the benches hidden in the shade of fig trees all make this magical place an island of tranquility and beauty. It is incredibly pleasant to relax in the embrace of nature, protected by the historic walls, and immerse myself in my thoughts here in complete tranquility.
These two paintings present the totality of the mood described above in the form of abstraction. The red and purple hues evoke the glowing light of sunsets and the velvety petals of roses, while the deep and lighter blue tones follow the gradual darkening of the sky into the night. The rough, sometimes hidden textures that weave through the composition – the imprints of ancient sea snail fossils – evoke the romantic atmosphere of the old castle walls of the Castle District.

Rose in the Castle II.
This painting is the successor to the previous version, evoking the same place, but in a different mood. The Turkish Garden always shows a different face – sometimes lively and vibrant, other times quiet and thoughtful. This picture captures the latter: the last rays of sunset, the cool touch of evening, moments of quiet contemplation.
The reddish and purple hues recall the vibrant colors of the setting sun and roses, while the blue tones evoke the slow arrival of evening. The prominent textures of the surface carry the weight of history, just like the ancient walls of the Castle District.
This painting is a kind of memory for me: it does not depict a specific sight, but the feeling that this special place always evokes in me. A calm, deep moment when one completely forgets about the beauty of the lights, colors and silence.

We have it in us.
Overall, the central idea of the work is not to allow ourselves to become a tool for the goals of others, but to find our own freedom, our world and values that we can live by. Let's not form opinions about what we do not know, because we do not get facts from the news, only announcements! Let's not mix the two!
People tend to accept information uncritically, whether it comes from the news, the media, or other sources, without carefully examining its authenticity. This is extremely dangerous because it essentially serves no purpose other than to mislead and confuse people and distract them from the main point. True knowledge does not come from what we hear from others, but from what we personally experience.
With this creation, I would like to draw attention to the fact that we should not automatically accept the information that comes to us, but rather form an opinion about our world based on our own experiences, logic, and observations.
Interpreting and understanding reality is a personal task. Every person has the opportunity to ask questions, gather their own experiences, and form informed opinions based on them. Our responsibility is to avoid blind faith in information and to actively seek to find the truth.

David's Teaching
This canvas is a practice canvas. Every artist is influenced by different things in the world. Colors, feelings, a mood, and of course, the works of other artists can also influence the final result. This work was inspired by a painting by an artist I greatly respect. Of course, the title of the work also testifies to this.

The 100-year-old olive tree
My painting, 100-Year-Old Olive Tree, is not just about a tree; it embodies a deep respect for nature and the wisdom of the past.
This olive tree is a symbol of love and tradition. Every leaf, every fruit tells a story, passed down through generations. It is a magical backdrop for family gatherings, meetings with friends, where people can enjoy the passage of time and the gifts of nature together.
As the seasons change, the olive tree maintains its dignity throughout: its budding flowers in spring, its lush greenery in summer, its golden leaves in autumn, and the silhouette of its gloomy branches in winter all provide a special experience.
Olive oil, made from the fruit, is not only a delicious addition to fantastic Italian dishes, but also an advocate for a healthy lifestyle. Every drop of oil is a little piece of Tuscany, allowing you to enjoy the fantastic flavors of the local culture with every meal.
Whoever can grow a 100-year-old olive tree in their garden carries in their heart the magic of Tuscany, the deep values of nature and the memory of old times. Such a tree is not just an ornament, but a place of peace, tranquility and love - a place where one can retreat at any time to reinterpret the world, surrounded by the beautiful landscape and the ancient wisdom of the old tree.

Treasures of the Incas
Inspired by the mystical realm of the Incas, my painting uses a unique contrast of gold and dark tones, as well as the shadows of the texture of thick layers of paint, to convey the power and mysticism of this fascinating ancient culture. The rich use of gold foil in the work pays homage to the precious metal consecrated by the Sun Gods. The darker shades evoke the story of the legendary founding couple, Manco Cápac and Mama Ocllo, who emerged from the depths of Lake Titicaca. These two mythical figures taught people the respect for the gods and the science of fertile agriculture. The textures of the painting refer to the refined aesthetics of the terraced mountains and Inca goldsmithing. The work also reflects the profound wisdom that characterized the Inca philosophy of life: “Do not lie, do not steal, do not be lazy!”
In what is now Peru, the Incas and their predecessors were characterized by the veneration of the Sun God (Inti in the case of the Incas). In these societies, gold almost without exception symbolized the Sun itself and embodied the power of the gods, so the precious metal was considered a divine essence. Since the rivers and the land itself in these areas contained abundant amounts of gold, it was easy to obtain this impressively shiny treasure, so the mastery of gold processing stands out in each of them. Objects made of gold could only be used by the ruler and his immediate family members, who constituted the nobility.

Triumph of memories
The image invites us to reflect on what exactly a human memory is in its physical form: Where is it stored, how is it retrieved, which cells are responsible for these tasks, and how?
The nature of human memories has long intrigued scientists, philosophers, and psychologists. According to classical psychology, memories are stored in the brain and activated by neural connections. However, this is a very chaotic and surprisingly superficial scientific assumption.
According to another approach, memories are located in the soul, that is, in the spiritual essence of man. The purpose of this work is to compare these two points of view and to highlight the role and significance of the soul in the formation and preservation of memories.
The concept of the soul traditionally refers to the connection between the body and the spirit. In many cultures and religions, the soul represents the essence of the individual, and memories are not just a record of past events, but also a part of the personality. The soul is able to preserve and transmit memories in the form of individual experiences, regardless of the state of the physical brain.
The storage of memories in the soul also assumes that they are not just information, but also emotions, feelings and a deeper interpretation of experiences. Several psychological schools emphasize how the emotional charge of memories and the individual's life history deeply influence the development of personality. This approach allows for the examination of the spiritual aspect of memories, from which point of view memories are not only recorded moments of the past, but also reflect the richness of the soul, not only from this life, but also from previous ones...

Emerging hopes
As a child, art was always my little refuge when something hurt me, or when I was in a bad mood, or when something simply wanted to come out of me. My grandmother had an antique shop at Tihany Rév, where I spent a lot of time during the summer holidays. These experiences left a deep mark on me. The smell of oil paintings, the special atmosphere of antiques and the hustle and bustle of trade all inspired me from a very young age. When I stand in front of the canvas today, the smells that surround me constantly evoke these pleasant summer memories.
As the years passed and the world of work, what is called the so-called capital life, sucked me in, unfortunately my creative hobbies took a back seat. Yet the family heritage, the values we bring with us, were always at work in me...
It took many impulses and the unfolding of certain principles for me to realize: enough is enough! Life should be about more than just sitting at a desk, staring at a keyboard and a screen, enriching others. Creating, crafting, living our dreams, leaving a mark on our earthly journey, conveying thoughts, inviting thought, and thereby bringing joy to others – that is what is truly important.
This is my first oil painting, born in the new era, with new mediums (oil, gold, Carrara marble powder, canvas) and in a new spirit.
